With nearly three decades of dedicated service at Walgreens, Dr. Ramona Pramedass-Blom has cultivated a remarkable career marked by continuous growth, passionate leadership, and a deep commitment to both patient care and the future of pharmacy. Beginning her journey as a high school student, Dr. Pramedass-Blom rose through the ranks—from pharmacy technician to intern, staff pharmacist, pharmacy manager, and now, a strategic leader in talent acquisition.

Throughout her 28-year tenure, she has touched nearly every facet of pharmacy practice. Her clinical acumen is rooted in specialized care, including HIV, oncology, opioid substance abuse, and wound care—areas where her compassion and expertise have made lasting impacts. Equally impressive is her leadership in public health initiatives, having spearheaded Walgreens programs in diabetes care and tobacco cessation.

Dr. Pramedass-Blom is also a dedicated educator. She has developed and delivered continuing education programs that equip healthcare professionals and Walgreens employees with the tools to navigate complex medical challenges. Her role as a preceptor for multiple colleges of pharmacy in South Florida has helped shape and mentor the next generation of pharmacists. Additionally, she serves on advisory boards for technical high schools, ensuring pharmacy education stays aligned with evolving industry standards.

A passionate advocate, Dr. Pramedass-Blom serves as Vice Chair of the South Florida AIDS Network, supporting and empowering those affected by HIV/AIDS. Her advocacy is grounded in community connection, empathy, and a relentless drive to make healthcare more inclusive and impactful.

In July 2024, Dr. Pramedass-Blom embraced a new challenge as the Regional Pharmacy Talent Acquisition Partner for South Florida and Puerto Rico. In this role, she harnesses her exceptional networking and interpersonal skills to identify, recruit, and nurture top-tier pharmacy talent—fortifying Walgreens’ mission to deliver outstanding healthcare across diverse communities.
